CD review: Valentin Schuppich Trio – Sentimental Waltz 2019: Video, CD cover

- in New CD's Review, VIDEOS

Valentin Schuppich began his musical education with violin lessons and switched to the piano at the age of 11.

During his school days he played with various jazz formations and took part in workshops at home and abroad. He then studied jazz piano at the Vienna Conservatory (now the MUK Institute) in the classes of Oliver Kent and Aaron Wonesch (graduated in 2013). He also attended master classes from musicians such as Fritz Pauer, Kenny Werner, John Taylor Seamus Blake or Franco D´Andrea, to name just a few. Since completing his studies, Valentin has worked as a freelance musician and piano teacher and has become an integral part of the jazz scene in and around Vienna as a pianist, composer and arranger. Valentin Schuppich’s fine, intuitive feel for accompaniment in various styles makes him a sought-after side man far beyond the borders of the Viennese jazz scene.
