As young as talented, the guitarist Adrien Moignard leads his trio through the diversity of the jazz repertoire, surfing effortlessly from Django Reinhardt to Wes Montgomery. With Mathieu Chatelain on rhythm guitar and Jérémie Arranger on double bass, they ally virtuosity and tradition, Modernity and Classicism.
They are part of this new generation evolving in Django’s idiom, with their own sound, their own language, conscious of an immortal heritage yet their eyes looking towards future.
This Trio, which aim is to remain opened musically speaking but also as far as the collaboration of others musicians is concerned, astounds the audience by the energy it transmits and never lives indifferent! Thanks to those qualities, the band has been playing for the past fifteen years in the most prestigious places and festivals !
For their visit in Ireland they will be joined by their long time friend Fintan Gilligan!
Fintan gilligan is one of Ireland’s most successful Gypsy Jazz guitarist. He has been on the Irish Jazz scene for over 30 years and has played the length and breadth of the country with his ensemble The Hotclub of Dublin. He is also a frequent visitor across the waters to England but more so to France, where he has Jammed with some of the biggest and brightest stars in the Gypsy Jazz world. Having been a regular at the Django Festival in Samois sur Seine every June he has gathered a vast following of admirers from across the globe, not only for his guitar playing but for his vocal repertoire. Being a fan of the great crooners, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin etc. Fintan has mastered the fine art of introducing the vocal side into many Gypsy Jazz “standards”. Here he joins his good friends “The Adrien Moignard Trio” for a night not to be missed.
