Gonzalo del Val selected for the Jazz Eñe exhibition: Video

The Head of the Department of Jazz and Modern Music of the Conservatori Liceu Superior Center and renowned drummer Gonzalo del Val has been selected with his trio to participate in the next edition of JazzEñe, which helded in Zaragoza between the 4th of October.

The Gonzalo del Val Trío will be in charge of opening the last day of concerts, on the 6th at 7pm, with his latest project, Koiné. He will be accompanied by David Mengual (double bass) and Toni Vaquer (piano), both also professors of the Conservatori Liceu, presenting a series of their own compositions and reinventions of the jazz repertoire. It is a sample plus the leading role of the teachers of the center as musicians active in the current scene.

JazzEñe is a great musical event organized by the SGAE Foundation in collaboration with the City Council of Zaragoza, Accion Cultural Española (AC / E) and Radio 3, which, for five years, brings together representatives of European festivals and international promoters invited especially to the occasion. All of them attend together with the public to the presentation of the different selected groups.

The goal is the internationalization of Spanish jazz, the dissemination of the most representative groups of the genre in our territory (within the Program for Internationalization of Spanish Culture – PICE, AC / E) and encourage their participation in festivals and tours, as well how to favor the exchange of experiences among professionals in the sector.

This year there will be a total of 12 concerts in showcase format of 45 minutes, in the Luis Galve room of the Auditorium of Zaragoza, a poster that will be completed with a series of jam sessions open to the public in the La Bóveda Hall of the same city.

In addition to the Gonzalo del Val Trio, we can listen to groups like Amos Lora, Ariel Bringingz “Experience” Quintet, Cristina Mora, Daniel Juárez Quinteto, Enrique Heredia “Negri” & Pepe Rivero, Enriquito Quinteto, Jerez Texas, José Carra Trío, Lara Vizuete, Musae and NANJAZZ.
