Four blues releases nominated for Spellemann: Video

The nominations for the Spellemanns Prize for the 2018 releases were announced on February 8. In the blues class, these four are nominated: Geir Bertheussen Blues Express, JT Lauritsen & The Buckshot Hunters, Jørgen Sandvik and Ulf Myrvold.

The Norwegian Norwegian bluesman Geir Bertheussen and his band have been nominated for the first time. The release “Southside” is the band’s sixth release and is released on its own label. The first nomination is also for Jan Tore Lauritsen and his Buckshot Hunters. After 25 years on the road and eight releases on their own company, it was finally nominated! Jørgen Sandvik has received a lot of good media coverage for his first solo album, Permanent Vacation, which is the third nominee. Sandvik has previously won two Spellemann’s awards with Real Ones, and one with Sigrid Moldestad. The fourth nominee is Ulf Myrvold. “Old Memories” is his first album release. Bluesnews congratulate all the nominees.

In the blues’ neighbor category, these four are nominated: Country Heroes with “Honky Tonk Tears”, Hege Øversveen with “Goodbye Yellow Roses”, Malin Pettersen with “References Pt. 1 “and The Northern Belle with” Blinding Blue Neon “.

Sondre Justad is set to be this year’s big winner, he has been nominated in four categories: this year’s album, this year’s song, best video and best pop artist.

The awards ceremony will take place on March 30 at Chateau Neuf in Oslo. The show is broadcast on NRK1 in two parts, one directly and one in recording. Program managers are Julie Bergan and Tarjei Strøm.
