Hans Backenroth is one of Scandinavia’s foremost bassists who played with Arne Domnérus, Kjell Öhman, Monica Zetterlund, Rebecka Törnqvist, Bernt Rosengren, Claes Janson and a long list of foreign soloists such as Harry Sweets Edison, Clark Terry, Scott Hamilton, Toots Thielemans and more.
Hans has received several awards such as the Wermland Society’s Cultural Scholarship and the Swedish Musicians’ Association Scholarship, participated in about 200 recordings and for twenty years has toured almost annually in Japan.
In 2009 Hans released his first solo album and now it’s time for the second solo album – Parker’s Mood – where he has assembled a quartet with the best of the younger generation who together make their own interpretations of Charlie Parker’s music.
